Yesterday I visited the Rolling
Stones in Oberhausen. About 60.000
people came to visit them and their warmup-acts. I haven't often seen so
many different people at one place - all ages from 12 to 70, from Hell's
angels to teachers (okay, that's not a huge difference) - seemed that
there were more AC/DC fans than Stones fans there.
It was a terrific and hot afternoon/night. The Cranberries played from
6:15pm to 7:00pm, very nice, Dolores O'Riordan really rocks, though the
audience seemed to be more interested in drinking beer and chatting ...
gonna try to get some bootlegs from
them,
lot of energy ... AC/DC played from 7:25pm to 8:50pm and they really
kicked ass. Couldn't even imagine how many songs I knew from all those
parties I have been when I was young ... if we are talking about energy,
this is high voltage ... wen't immediatly to the record store today to get
their "Live '92" (Special Edition Digipack 2CD) - what a great record!!!
The Rolling Stones played from 9:45pm to 11:55pm.
Of
course they were terrific, all they have a great stage presence, they are
true legends ... was a good idea to take the chance to see them once live.
"Rock me baby" was the true highlight of the evening, so much guitarpower
on one stage ... |
