Saturday 17th started as a day as bad as it could be - I woke up in the night, cramping and having terrible stamach ache ... a day to stay in bed and recover, not to do a 2 ½ hour drive to Den Haag. But the ticket for the show is my X-mas present to Nina ... from the very first time she heard a tune from this band, she can't stop talking about them. Since christmas she was talking about this concert every day, to cancel this would have broken her heart. And so it goes - Nina drove us safe to Den Haag, I was looking forward to sleep some hours before the concert in our hostel ... but that didn't happen, as the hostel was not what we would call 'clean' - we canceled our reservation and had to spend almost 5 hours in front of the Paard in our car. It was raining so heavily, we could not leave it for a minute ... but a day like this can only turn better. And that what happened: An hour before the concert started, we entered the club, chattet a minute with Marcel, Boo's manager, the opener 'Yumi Yumi' from Japan played (we liked the music, but not the singer's voice) and then - about 9pm - Boo! entered the stage. The Paard is a nice little club, completely filled with more than 600 enthusiastic Boo! fans. We had great view from the balcony and witnessed a world class concert. I don't remember many so called 'superstars' having such a stage presence as Boo! have it, they really rocked the house and created an breathtaking atmosphere - it made me forget all the pain and when it ended, Nina smiled at me and said "This was the best concert of my life" it was all worthwhile.
