Peter Kingsbery Was in Splendid yesterday evening

The Rock gently

Yesterday evening, Peter KINGSBERY did not often take the guitar,

preferring it the organ and the synthesizers

As his voice is strong when he sings, as it is sweet when he speaks. Peter KINGSBERY - ex singer of Cock Robin - was apparently happy to be in Lille yesterday evening. Even if the public - 150 persons fantastic - had not crowded in Splendid to listen to him. " You touched us to be there and not in Jean - Jacques Goldman's concert there ", he made fun in perfect French. Then, misfortune to those who were not there. And complete happiness for the others.

Mainly in the organ and in the synthé, a quite small few in the guitar, he played during more than two hours. Resuming the songs which propelled him on the front of the scene in the 80s ("Just around the Corner ", "The promise you made" or "Only the very best ") and making discover those whom he created solo.

Accompanied by three musicians - French, please-, a violinist, a drummer, a trumpeter (besides lcharged with the electronic classifications), Peter KINGSBERY clearly exposed(explained) the musical bend which he negotiated. The rhythm is that of the 90s, there are not guitars anymore (that misses moreover maybe little). Place, partially, in the music assisted by computer. There is something experimental in the new creations.

Prevent, on scene, the man is, with his voice, his humor there. Yesterday evening, Peter KINGSBERY brought the last classifications to a spectacle which leaves for tour in all Europe. Neither him, nor his musicians saved their efforts. In the room, they were not numerous, but those took advantage well of it.

A l’origine des immortels « When your heart is weak » ; « Just around ther corner » ou « The promise you made », le duo Peter Kingsbery-Anna Lacazio explosa en pleine gloire.

Peter Kingsbery and after Cock Robin

" To stop the group was not of my fact! "

"Cock Robin" was certainly one of the most fabulous usaines in tubes of the 80s. At the origin of the immortal " When your heart is weak "; " Just around the Corner " or " The promise you made ", the duet Peter Kingsbery-Anna Lacazio exploded in full glory. While, no more his solo career than that of the Anna made the magic of the collusive years forget, Peter Kingsbery, on the occasion of the first concert of his turned European, given recently to Splendid Jenlain of Lille, returns over his years of live charcoal : " What stays in me of Cock Robin today, it is many regrets. This group, it was above all the pleasure to sing in duet with Anna. I feel the other things today, I take my foot otherwise. With Anna Lacazio, it was the privilege to establish a complicity between two voices complementing itself marvelously … For me, the end of the group was little as that of Everly Brothers. Cock Robin, it was all my family … It is the profession which killed us. To stop the group was not of my fact. Anna wanted that we stop everything for height of reasons ; Among others, it had the impression to be constantly in my shadow, while it was not really the purpose of the group. The  box of discs had simply chosen to expose more my voice than his. This strategy, I realize it today, it was anything.  Where  we  advanced  Anna,  on the other hand, it was in clips. I remember the first time when I viewed  that of " When your heart is weak ", turned in the desert of Joshuah Tree, we saw only her, with her superbes eyes, the middle-Chinese, the middle-Italian. Waow, I couldn't escape her ! … Since the end of the group, she has a small resentment against this business generally, then she began all the time to meet itself. Have been so popular and realize brutally that everything is finished, it is not easy to manage. Anna recovered to work that for two years, to record, in 97, an album at Gorgone, in Lille. A disc filled with extraordinary songs revealing composer's authentic talent. It is moreover while she was in studio for which I asked her to collaborate in my album " Pretty Ballerina ". We redid "More Than Willing", a duet of our debuts which I wanted to work again. At once, that was again magic! "

« When your heart is weak », tourné dans le désert de Joshuah Tree, on ne voyait qu’elle, avec ses superges yeux, mi-chinois, mi-italiens. Waow, I couldn’t escape her !… »
