from
suede.net:
"suede would like to announce that from next year they will be working
on their own individual projects.there will not be a new studio album
until the band feel that the moment is artistically right to make one.this
announcement does not affect the forthcoming touring commitments. suede
would like to thank the fans for their wonderful support over the years.
see you in the next life."
This statement marks the - not too
surprising - end of a terrific band. 5 albums, one 'Best-of' collection,
one 2CD collection of B-sides, a lot of outtakes not included on 'sci-fi
lullabies' ... this extraordinary band has been so tremandously creative
throughout more than a decade ... they would have been deeply missed and
the end would have been surprising if their last CD 'A new morning' had
not indicated that Suede these days wasn't all that anymore. Every song on
'sci-fi lullabies' is far superior to the uninspired 'A new morning'
releases. So maybe the so called 'break' leaves some hope that one day the
Suede i'll always love and admire get back ...
